Recently, the Maine State Legislature passed their first adult record sealing statute, and lawmakers are now discussing the consideration of future Clean Slate policies. Dr. Laura Chavez, CSI’s Director of Research & Data, submitted written testimony to the Criminal Records Review working committee in support of Clean Slate.
